Looking for a game like classic Evony?
If you miss the original browser Evony from the Age I and Age II days, Taking London: The Old Ages was made for you.
For a lot of us, 2009 and 2010 meant a browser tab that never closed: construction timers ticking down, heroes waiting in the Inn, valleys to take before the neighbours did, and alliance chat lighting up at 3am because someone's scouts had spotted an army on the march. Those Flash-era servers are long gone, and so is Flash itself - browsers stopped running it at the end of 2020.
Taking London: The Old Ages is an independent, free-to-play browser strategy MMO built for players who miss that style of game: slow-burning, persistent, played in a browser, and decided by planning and diplomacy rather than reflexes.
What you'll find
- A city that grows on timers. Twenty kinds of building to construct and upgrade, one job at a time, so every build order matters.
- Five resources. Food, wood, stone, iron and gold - gathered, taxed, traded at the Marketplace and spent faster than you can make them.
- Heroes. Recruit them at the Inn, manage them in the Feasting Hall, and put the right one in charge of each army and city.
- Valleys and expansion. Take valleys for extra production, found new cities, and build an empire one tile at a time.
- A full army. Twelve troop types, from workers and scouts to cavalry, siege engines and catapults, with research at the Academy to make them stronger.
- Alliances and war. One shared world, where the alliance you pick matters as much as the army you build.
What's new
- No Flash, no download. It runs in any modern browser, and has a touch-friendly layout for phones and tablets - you can even add it to your home screen.
- Automation built in. Pro mode lets you write goals for your city - what to build, research and train - and the game works through them for you. No third-party tools needed. See the Pro mode guide.
- A real map to fight over. The world is set across historic Britain and Ireland, with historic cities - Canterbury, Cork, Edinburgh, Dublin and more - to besiege, and the throne of London as the prize.
